Ashraf Patel – The Pioneer of Halal Food in the U.S.

In 1990, Ashraf Patel began his career in the restaurant industry and quickly realized that many restaurants and stores weren’t offering truly authentic halal products. This sparked his desire to make a difference. In 1997, he took a bold step by opening his own grocery store on Devon Avenue, where he personally ensured every cut of meat met zabihah halal standards—introducing the first authentic halal meat to Chicago.

Building on this success, Ashraf expanded in 2000 by importing products from Pakistan, making popular household brands accessible across the U.S. and making it easier for you to find high-quality halal foods.

But Ashraf’s journey didn’t stop there. Recognizing that Milwaukee needed more halal food options, he opened Anmol Restaurant in 2005 to serve the local community, offering a much-needed resource for those looking for authentic halal cuisine.

Today, Ashraf Patel is celebrated as a pioneer in the halal food industry, especially for his commitment to promoting zabihah halal meat. His passion and vision have helped countless people access the halal food they love, and his efforts paved the way for the growing demand for halal food services across the country.

Arif Patel’s journey in the restaurant industry started at a young age. With a graduation in Culinary Arts from Kendall College of Culinary Arts, he quickly decided to dive deep into the world of halal food and Pakistani/Indian cuisines. His vision was clear: to bring these cuisines to the forefront and elevate them to international standards.

From the very beginning, Arif was determined to build strong teams and lead business development efforts. He believed in the power of collaboration and leadership, which made him an invaluable asset in helping businesses grow. Even before graduating, Arif had already enrolled in the restaurant industry full-time, working relentlessly to turn his passion into a thriving business.

Today, Arif Patel is recognized for his commitment to standardizing and expanding halal food offerings and has made significant contributions to the industry’s growth, especially in the realm of Pakistani and Indian cuisines. His leadership continues to shape the success of Anmol Restaurant and Anmol Catering.

Akbar Patel – Key Architect of Anmol’s Growth

Akbar Patel graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Parkside, where he earned his degree in Business Administration. He has been an integral part of Anmol from its inception, taking on key roles in administration and business development. Determined to apply what he learned in business; he pursued an MBA to build the expertise necessary to help Anmol thrive. Akbar’s passion for the halal market and his dedication to expanding it across the U.S. have been vital in giving Anmol a fresh direction.

Starting at a young age, Akbar focused on growing the Anmol brand and worked tirelessly to elevate its presence. Today, he holds a prominent role in Business Administration and works closely with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction, meet their needs, and provide financial guidance. Akbar’s strategic efforts help Anmol maintain its upward trajectory, ensuring both growth and customer satisfaction.

Mohammed Ameen

Ameen earned his degree in Culinary Arts from the College of Tourism and Hotel Management in Karachi, Pakistan, in 2018. With a solid background in retail and catering kitchens, he brings a wealth of experience to the team.

Currently, Ameen plays a pivotal role at Anmol’s Central Catering location in Naperville, Illinois. He is responsible for managing daily operations with a skilled team working on site, ensuring every dish meets the high standards of quality and flavor that Anmol is known for. His dedication and expertise contribute to the seamless preparation of events, making him an integral part of the team.

Roy Uttam

Roy Uttam holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from his homeland, Bangladesh. With over 12 years of experience across various industries, including restaurants and catering companies, he has honed his skills in culinary excellence and team management.

Since 2012, Roy has been an integral part of Anmol, serving as the Executive Chef. He is responsible for planning and executing all catering orders, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining Anmol’s high standards of quality. In addition to supervising kitchen staff, Roy prepares detailed reports and works closely with the Management. His dedication and expertise have been instrumental in driving Anmol’s success in the catering industry.

Ameer Poulas

Ameer Poulas has been with Anmol since 2011, starting as a server and quickly showcasing a passion for growth and excellence. His Customer Service and leadership skills earned him the opportunity to manage of premise catering team, where he honed his expertise in creating exceptional experiences.

Now as Event Director, Ameer oversees planning, coordination, and on-site execution of events, both locally and out of state. He ensures seamless collaboration between staff and venue executing event to meet customers expectation from Anmol. Delivering memorable experiences that uphold Anmol’s reputation for excellence.
